Conference organized by ROHCMUM on Preparing emergency disaster response with and for citizens : Transition NDG Workshops
On November 6, 2019, Morgan Chelihi and Julie-Maude Normandin from Cité-ID Living Lab, along with Maureen Lafrenière from Transition NDG, gave a presentation to the Montréal assembly of humanitarian and community organizations for emergency measures (the ROHCMUM). Entitled “Preparing emergency disaster response with and for citizens” the workshop described the reasons for and challenges involved in the project ‘Resilience and social capital: disaster preparedness’ undertaken by Cité-ID and Transition NDG. It also exposed ROHCMUM members to ‘Ready and resilient in the face of disaster’ workshops that offer a fun, participatory way to increase citizen awareness and knowledge of risks and best practices in individual and community preparedness. Over 20 participants took part in the activity.
We would like to thank the ROHCMUM for organizing this conference and Transition NDG for its collaboration.
