Con­fer­ence orga­nized by ROHC­MUM on Prepar­ing emer­gency dis­as­ter response with and for cit­i­zens : Tran­si­tion NDG Workshops

On Novem­ber 6, 2019, Mor­gan Che­li­hi and Julie-Maude Nor­mandin from Cité-ID Liv­ing Lab, along with Mau­reen Lafrenière from Tran­si­tion NDG, gave a pre­sen­ta­tion to the Mon­tréal assem­bly of human­i­tar­i­an and com­mu­ni­ty orga­ni­za­tions for emer­gency mea­sures (the ROHC­MUM). Enti­tled Prepar­ing emer­gency dis­as­ter response with and for cit­i­zens” the work­shop described the rea­sons for and chal­lenges involved in the project Resilience and social cap­i­tal: dis­as­ter pre­pared­ness’ under­tak­en by Cité-ID and Tran­si­tion NDG. It also exposed ROHC­MUM mem­bers to Ready and resilient in the face of dis­as­ter’ work­shops that offer a fun, par­tic­i­pa­to­ry way to increase cit­i­zen aware­ness and knowl­edge of risks and best prac­tices in indi­vid­ual and com­mu­ni­ty pre­pared­ness. Over 20 par­tic­i­pants took part in the activity.
