Digital technologies and COVID-19 in Quebec

Description

The COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the importance of digitizing government information and communication systems, as well as the challenges this involves. At the start of the pandemic, many health authorities still depended on paper-based processes, manual entry and transmission by fax. They were forced to adapt and change their practices very quickly.

In collaboration with OBVIA, Cité-ID is conducting a research project on the use of digital tools by Quebec public health authorities during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study is particularly interested in the challenges of integrating new IT tools into existing communication and information systems. In doing so, the study aims to better understand the challenges related to 1) the integration and compatibility of information systems; 2) the standardization and sharing of data; and 3) the implementation of IT tools in the pandemic.
