Social Capital as a determinant of Post-Disaster Recovery. How to develop social capital before an event?
Several studies show that social capital build before a event is a key factor of recovery after a disaster. To better transfert this knowledge, the City-ID Living Lab organized a workshop led by a specialist on this subject, the Northeastern University’s political science professor Daniel Aldrich, and animated byt Marie-Christine Therrien, Professor at ENAP and Director of Cité-ID. This initiative allowed more than 30 participants from nine organizations to reflect on the role of social capital and how to develop it. This workshop is part of our two projects on social capital for youth and preparation for catastrophic events.
